As we wrap up 2022 with various celebrations, I am sharing suggestions for maintaining your weight and well-being amidst the merriment. Below are holiday recipes, tips, and gifts for achieving the goal of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

Staying healthy during the holidays is always a challenge. One of the most loaded holiday indulgences is boozy cocktails. An excess of alcohol impacts your liver, blood sugar, and mood. So, consider healthy mocktails as an alternative beverage. Using fresh ingredients like seasonal fruits, natural sweeteners, herbs, bitters, or fermented foods, you can blend or infuse a delicious mocktail, and you won’t miss the booze. Here are a few of my favorite recipes that I hope will bring goodness to your holiday happenings. 

Lavender Collins Mocktail  – It’s easy to turn a lavender Collins cocktail into one without alcohol. As lavender is beneficial for sleep, it may help you relax even more with its soothing flavors and aroma.

  • ½ cup Ice
  • 1-1½ Tablespoons Monin Sugar-free Lavender Syrup 
  • ½ Tablespoon lemon  juice 
  • Top up with Sparkling water 
  • Garnish with a lemon wedge or lavender sprigs
  • Combine the first 4 ingredients in a glass and mix well. Garnish and enjoy. 

Hot Toddy Mocktail – Switch from a traditional hot toddy to a mocktail version, and you’ll be on your way to a great night of sleep.

  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ inch slice of Fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon monk fruit/stevia blend (optional)
  • Boil water with a slice of fresh ginger and a cinnamon stick.
  • Mix in fresh-squeezed lemon juice and sweetener to round it out
