Dr. Janine Darby, MD
Dr. Janine Darby is a business leader, medical doctor, bariatric expert, civic leader, advocate, mentor, and role model to many. She is also the founder of Lifestyle Changes, a concierge, virtual medical practice focused on weight loss and management. Dr. Darby is a double board-certified physician in Family and Obesity Medicine. She offers medical expertise partnered with personal experience to help patients achieve comprehensive weight loss transformations. Dr. Darby launched Lifestyle Changes in April 2019 and in two years she has successfully lead hundreds of patients on personal journeys towards significant weight loss and ongoing weight management. Under her supervision, patients have lost up to 50 pounds in four to six months and more than 100 pounds in a year.
“My passion for obesity medicine began when I was 39 years old. After four children, I looked in the mirror in tears, depressed, self-conscious, and imprisoned by an excess of 30 pounds on my small height of 4’11”. I made a pledge to concentrate on obesity medicine and to develop a personal plan to lose the weight and achieve a healthy lifestyle,” said Dr. Darby.
Dr. Darby’s personal journey, as shared in her book Get Your Sexy Back, is the foundation of her private practice focused on a range of weight loss needs and subsequent health issues. She partners with each patient to design a personalized, holistic approach that addresses the individual’s mindset, behaviors, understanding of food, meal prepping, cardiorespiratory health, and medication management.
She runs Lifestyle Changes from her home office, where she offers patients private virtual sessions via a secure, HIPAA compliant video chat platform and in-person visits as necessary. This platform helps patients to navigate their busy schedules that often prevent their commitment to a successful weight loss program. Dr. Darby also developed a private-label collection of vitamins and supplements to complement her treatment plans.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Darby leverages her family medicine expertise by working weekends and off-hours at local Urgent Care facilities in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She believes that by serving her community through these medical centers, she is able to ensure quality health care to people with various needs and of all ages.
